Retreats - either Personal or Group Self Renewal Adventures in the Maine North Woods.

Michael Lee, the founder of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and author of Turn Stress Into Bliss is in love with the area known as the North Woods in Maine. It was here he went to write Turn Stress Into Bliss and where he spends much of his time each year. To him, this area offers an experience of life that is revitalizing, energizing, and mind clearing.

Michael is now offering to share this experience on a limited basis with those wishing to take a "time out" and re-connect with the essence of their being by embracing the wild beauty and solitude of this magical part of our world.

You can choose either a guided Personal Retreat or you can organize your own small group for a Group Retreat.

Here is a sample itinerary for a 3 day Personal Retreat.

Day 1: Pick up at Bangor Airport and travel north to a beautiful lake with a view of Katahdin - Maine's highest mountain. Your accommodation might be a room in a lakeside luxury lodge or a bedroom in a lakeside cottage, depending on your preference. Either way, you'll have time for an early evening kayak on the lake, perhaps pausing to listen to the call of the loons. Then you'll enjoy a healthy and carefully prepared dinner and conversation with your guide.

Day 2: Morning yoga and breakfast and then enjoy a day swimming, kayaking, and a boat ride to an isolated sandy beach on an island for lunch. Take your time to breathe in the spectacular scenery and and solitude. Evening yoga and meditation followed by pre-dinner drinks on the deck to watch the sunset over the lake.

Day 3: Hike a mountain suited to your level of fitness. Some may choose Katahdin while others might hike one of the smaller mountains located in or near the beautiful Baxter State Park. You will be introduced to the practice of hiking and wilderness meditation during this hike - tools to help you connect your moment to moment experience to what is truly important in your life. Enjoy the beautiful mountaintop views before returning to your ride back to the lake and the evening rituals including a swim, sunset, and dinner.

Day 4: After morning yoga and meditation and perhaps another swim and kayak, journey back to Bangor for your flight home.

These experiences will be based on the essence of the Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy process first developed by Michael in 1985.

This will be a special time in your life where you will have the opportunity to:

* Reconnect with your self and embrace once more the spirit that is uniquely yours

* Learn how to apply the Phoenix Rising Process to many different physically oriented activities including hiking, kayaking, nature walks and moose watching, as well as yoga, meditation and other introspective practices

* Set a course for your life going forward that will bring greater joy and fulfillment to each and every day

* Enjoy three challenging and exciting days in a beautiful wilderness setting but sleep each night in a comfortable bed in a lakeside lodge with mountain views

* Enjoy wholesome and nourishing meals and the company of your guide

You will be able to choose the options that are right for you in designing your package. Standard package price including accommodation, meals, transportation, guide, and personal coaching begin at $950 for a three day retreat. Details of other options and prices will be emailed after you express your interest.

If you prefer, you may want to choose a group retreat for yourself and a small group of colleagues, friends, or family. Either way it will be our pleasure to support and safely guide your journey both within and without.
