Maine North Woods - Katahdin Region

Those of you who know me will not be surprised by my choice here. This is one of my absolute favorite places in the world to be. Why?

It's so peaceful and serene here. A two day mini vacation here is enough to keep me going for quite a while. I like to hike, fish, kayak, or just hang out. One of my favorite rituals is to set on the deck of my "camp" every evening and watch the sun set over the lake with Katahdin rising majestically to the side, often bathed in crimson at its base fading to pale blue above.

The people here also are great. They appreciate where they live and are at home in the woods. In keeping with the Maine slogan they live life "the way it was meant to be".
