Blessings and Greetings

This year my nine year old daughter is very grateful. She won a complete Thanksgiving Dinner for our family from our whole foods supermarket in their free raffle. What is most cool is that she really tried to win it. She entered a ticket every time we visited the supermarket over the last month. I was too busy shopping to bother and thinking "how could I win anyway?" She taught me a lesson in hope and faith.

Her win also made us all think how about how abundant and fortunate we are and has set the scene for a real time of giving thanks this week.

Family and friends come to mind for me as my primary focus of thanks. Despite what might happen at a material level in our world, the love and support of those I call "family" or "community" is something that sustains me daily. For that I am truly grateful.

The freedom we enjoy in life comes high on my list as well. How blessed are we to live in a world that lets us go where we want, do pretty much what we want, say what we want, and most importantly to express our life energy in harmony with our spirit.

I love to fly. Becoming a pilot opened up a whole new world to me. Some days as I soar among the clouds and gaze upon the earth below I say a big "thank you!" Not so much thanks for the flying, but for the harmony I feel within my whole being in that moment. I'm sure anyone who loves to dance, or paint pictures, or build houses, or gaze upon a newborn, has felt something similar. It happens in that moment of connection with the creative force within us when our whole being just wants to shout "Yes!"

There is more on my list. Health, fresh air, good food, a warm bed, hugs, mountains to climb, and the technology to communicate.

What is on your list?

No matter where you are or what you are doing this Thursday, take a moment to join me. Give thanks for all that you are grateful for in your life, and then let out a resounding "Yes!"

Happy Thanksgiving and very best wishes,

Michael
